Lois Buick Obituary
Lois Helen Buick, 92, Wisconsin Rapids, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Lois was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 4, 1920 to Charters and Sonora (Sweren) Roe. She married Emmett Buick on November 4, 1939 in Chicago. The couple was blessed with five children: Patrick, Donald, Michael, Carol and Timothy. After 65 loving years together, Emmett died in January of 2005.
Lois was a loving mother and grandmother, affectionately known as the "chicken gramma" by her grandchildren due to her collection of ceramic chickens over the years. Lois enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and word jumbles, and was very good at them. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and going out with her girlfriends.
Lois is survived by her children, Patrick (Cheryl), Donald, Michael (Anne), Carol (Charles) Higgins and Timothy (Kim) Buick; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett.
No services will be scheduled. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.
A special word of thanks goes to Dr. David Crowther, the nurses of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and the nurses and staff of Our House Assisted Living for their compassionate care of Lois and her family.
