MARILYN CULLINANE Obituary

CULLINANE, Marilyn Ann Age 81, a resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Burlington, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cambridge on November 19, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Anna J. (O'Hara) Cullinane. Our world lost our favorite Leprechaun. She was kind, loving, always enjoyed a good joke or story and was happiest being surrounded by family. She grew up in Mission Hill and attended Mission High School, until her marriage to Frank P. Lawrence in 1965. They moved frequently; first, for his job as a Navy Officer. Then, they followed his job promotions, from Georgia to New Jersey, finally returning to Massachusetts in 1979, where she raised her family in Chelmsford and stayed until her passing. Marilyn worked for many years at Angell Memorial Animal Center, Sears, the Internal Revenue Service and Lahey Hospital, as well as others. Marilyn was a proud American and voted in every election. She devoted her life to raising her children then taking responsibility for being a big part in her grandchildren's lives. Her final joy was her great-grandson. They spent many hours looking up ideas on her computer or painting each other's faces. Always laughing at being "naughty". She was also a key parental figure for others, providing a carpool to and from countless fields, gyms and pools. Marilyn was always there on the sideline, in the stands or standing on the pool deck timing the events. She always encouraged those around her to strive for their best. Marilyn leaves her children, Paula McInerney and her partner, Richard Ronayne; and her children, Sara and Brian; Deborah (Lawrence) Carpenter and her husband, Jeffrey Carpenter; and their children, Kaylin and Kevin; Julie Lawrence; and her children, Zachary Lawrence, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Rachele and Amanda Paolucci; and Todd Lawrence and his wife, Katherine (Coleman) Lawrence; and their children, Charlotte, Jameson and Cole. She also leaves her great-grandson, Oliver Paolucci, who loved her with a special zeal. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm, at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service and interment will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn's name to the Joslin Diabetes Center, at joslin.org/giving Funeral directors, Paul A. Hardy, Jr. and Jennifer Lebaropoulos Hardy.
