FEDERICO, Marisa D. Of Braintree, passed away on March 26, 2016, at the age of 37, after a courageous fight with cancer, which she battled with strength and dignity. Marisa grew up in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School, Class of 1996. She then went on to graduate from Assumption College in 2000 with her Bachelor Degree in Sociology. She was the director of National Sales for the Boston Convention Center. Marisa loved to travel the world and enjoyed nature and the outdoors. She was an inspiration to many and participated or supported many athletic charitable events over the years. She was very family oriented and always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marisa will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Marisa was the beloved daughter of Nino and Doreen Federico of Braintree. Devoted sister of David Federico and his wife Lisa of Hanover and Lauren Federico of Braintree. Loving companion of Josh Thompson of Dorchester. Dear "Auntie Reesie" to her 3 "Love Bugs", Michael, Vanessa and Carly. Cherished granddaughter of A. James Federico of Milton. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., BRAINTREE, until 9:30 AM on Thursday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 3:00-8:00 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Dear Mr and Mrs Federico and family,
My name is Paula Benham.
I was married to Ed Benham who was Marisas teacher at Liberty School in 5 th grade.
I was a teacher in Boston at the same time and we would share teaching experiences. I always remember Eddie talking about Marisa and her friends being such a joy to teach! Mrs Federico would come to parent conferences and Ed couldn't say enough good things about Marisa.
My husband passed away in 2014. He was 79.
Marisas in her 30s so tragic. She was an inspiration to her teachers, classmates and to me for making my husbands teaching so rewarding. God bless you and and her wonderful siblings.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Marisa in person, I had the wonderful opportunity of connecting with her through my uncle Frank Mirisola. The few times we chatted you could feel the Love Marisa had for life, My family and myself rallied around her Kentucky Derby quest. As a fellow Breast Cancer patient.
