Marjorie Munro Obituary

MUNRO, Marjorie C. (Chace) 84, of Marion, died November 22, 2011 in the Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. Her husband of 53 years, Theodore Pierce Munro died last year. She was the daughter of the late Prestin N. and Prudence E. Chace. She and her husband raised their family in Wellesley Hills before moving to Marion in 1978. Mrs. Munro was a member of the Kittansett Club and Piney Point Beach Club. She volunteered for many years at Damien's Food Pantry, the Friendship Table at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church and various other local charities. She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church and St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church. Survivors include 2 sons, Douglas M. Munro and his loving companion, Nancy Moore of Marion, Peter A. Munro and his wife Cathy Mayers of Natick. Her daughter, Cynthia C. Beach died in 2004. Her burial service will be private. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Marjorie for a celebration of life at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Kittansett Club, 11 Point Rd., Marion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sippican Land Trust, 354 Front St., Marion, MA 02738. Arrangements are by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
