Peabody Hall-Temple University '91....I woke up last night, on the eve of this Memorial Day Weekend May, 2025, and found myself reminiscing about college dorm days, and happed on my fellow gentle giant Mark. Everything I've read is exactly how I saw him: kind, good natured, even-tempered, and always smiling with his depped up, spiked blond hair. The Boston (Dedham) in him was so infectious and such a novelty on that Philly dorm, i remember once falling into the accent myself, 'what's going on here, i'm talking like you, Mark.' He had a quality that people always wanted to be around him, and it never went to his head. To a good heart and soul, I toast to you Mark Carney a 40 of red bull, like the old days....... Dan

Dear Carney family, I'm so sorry for your loss. As a colleague of Mark's at DHS, I saw first hand is kindness and generosity and his commitment to the entire community. He will be sorely missed by staff and students and I hope the many memories of family time and joy can bring you comfort during this tragic time.
Many blessings to you all, Jen Leonard Schaffstein

Mark is truly one of the most unselfish, earnest, and caring men I have been blessed to know. His goodness and dedication to his family and profession have inspired me. I aspire to be more like Mark. And I will miss him very much.
