MARK ROCH MAHONEY

MAHONEY, Mark Roch Of Duxbury, died on October 26th at the Jordan Hospital at the age of 63. He is survived by his beloved wife Ilene Horvitz of Duxbury, his mother Dorothy "Rocky" (Roch) Mahoney of Needham, his brother Dennis Mahoney and his wife Judy of Wheaton, IL; and his sisters Sheila Friswell and her husband Don of Natick and Norah Xenos and her husband Don of Westborough. Son of the late John T. Mahoney and brother of the late Kate Mahoney Curtsinger. He also leaves his nieces and nephews: Justin and Owen Curtsinger, Jessica and Sarah Friswell; Andrew and Gregory Xenos; John Mahoney and his wife Allyson, Grant Mahoney, Rose Mahoney and her fiance Steven Anthony. Mark was born in Duxbury and graduated from Needham High School, Boston University and Duke University where he received his Master's degree in Political Science. He was active in Duxbury town government where he served as the Chairman of the Conservation Commission and on the Finance Committee for several years. Mark was an avid antique duck decoy collector and enjoyed Irish music, playing the Irish whistle and concertina. A funeral service will be held on Monday October 29th at the First Parish Church in Duxbury at 1 PM followed by burial at the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury. There are no visiting hours.
