MARTIN J. ROPER

ROPER, Martin J. Martin J. "Marty" Roper, 68, of Wilton, NH and Marshfield, MA, passed away after a brief illness. He was born in Boston, MA on November 3, 1948 to Martin J. Roper and Kathleen (Cunningham) Roper. Marty grew up in Jamaica Plain and attended local schools there including the Blessed Sacrament School and Boston English High School. After graduating from Boston College with a degree in accounting, he began work immediately in the Boston area. He quickly found his passion and expertise as he turned his attention to the home healthcare industry in the early 70s. Marty spent the next several decades helping the elderly and less fortunate remain independent and receive health care in their own homes. While he was a tireless advocate for seniors and home healthcare, he simultaneously had a tremendous impact on thousands of employees under his direction over the years. He was a ardent supporter of his employees; many of whom he personally sponsored to achieve higher levels of education and licensure. He is survived by his children, Michael Roper and his wife Linda of Brookline, MA, Stephen Roper and his wife Jaime of TN, and Kristen Speary and her husband Jonathan of Wellesley, MA; his sister Alice Brown of Duxbury, MA and many nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his four grandchildren, whom he loved very much. Services were private for the family.
