CANEVAZZI, Mary Therese Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 29, 2025, with her adoring husband by her side. Known affectionately as M.T. by those who loved her, she lived a life defined by compassion, service, and unwavering love for her family. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her professional calling as a nurse and in her personal devotion to family. Born in 1942, M.T. graduated as valedictorian of the Lansford High School, Class of 1960. She pursued her calling in healthcare by studying nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. Early in her career, she worked at several New York City hospitals and also at the University of Chicago Hospital. For over 35 years, she touched countless lives locally with her strength, skill, and empathy at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. M.T. was the devoted wife of Russell Canevazzi for 58 years. She was the loving mother of Mark (Isle of Palms, SC) and his wife, Amanda and Pia (Plymouth, MA). She treasured her role as "Grammy" to her five grandsons, Jacob, Luke and Zach Canevazzi and Billy and Danny El Sammak; and step-grandchildren, Avry and Jada McKinney. They were her pride and joy. She delighted in cheering them on, sharing in their adventures and offering her loving guidance at every stage of their lives. Family was at the heart of everything M.T. did. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her cherished Slovak and Italian recipes. She was an extraordinary cook and baker, known especially for her holiday pies. The ultimate travel companion, M.T. was always eager to experience new places. She especially enjoyed cruising with Russell and the entire family. In every port and every place that she visited, she marveled at grocery stores and food markets, where she could sample treats and local delicacies. She could spend hours perusing aisles of stores and contemplating the perfect gift for friends and family. In her later years, she found joy and peace in her backyard oasis, tending to her flowers and feeding and admiring a menagerie of hummingbirds, squirrels, crows, turkeys, and deer. M.T. was truly known for her compassion, wit and wisdom, as well as her signature hair style, which complimented her diminutive stature. Her legacy is one of love, service, and generosity. She left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 86 Court Street, Plymouth. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Homes, PLYMOUTH.
