Mary was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in March 2025."Mary's life was guided by faith, hope and love. As tumor progression took away everything she had, it could not take who she was. Mary's prayers increasingly focused on peace for her loved ones, neighbors, friends, faithful clergy and all of her family. In praying peace for those she loved, Mary was in turn blessed with more than 200 days of peace," her husband, James Carnevale said.
Mary was devoted to her family and to the students she had the pleasure of teaching during her years as an educator. Her career in education included teaching appointments at the
Immaculate Conception School and St. Patrick's School, both in Lowell, and at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro. She was a valued member of professional organizations, affiliated with the Archdiocese of Boston and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Mary's proudest professional achievement was being credited by her former students for helping them develop a lifetime love of learning and serving as their north star through their formative years. Loyal to her friends and generous with her time for those in need, Mary was active in the Archdiocese of Boston's Clergy Sexual Abuse Survivor Community.
