Naomi R Lesley university class of 1980
February 21, 2023
Mary was my friend, my mentor and my professor from 1976 to 1980 at Lesley. She had an incredible, caring, motivating, pizzazz about her that made you want to spend hours in her presence. I worked at the kindergarten conference, just so I could observe her in action. She was the best part of Lesley university as is reflected in the 50 years she gave to that institute of higher learning. I stayed in touch with her during the last four decades, and I am so glad I did. I wanted her to know how much she was loved, and the positive influence she had on so many teachers! Rest in peace Mary. Your memory will be carried forever in my heart. My deepest condolences to her daughter and her family.

When I arrived at Lesley, I lived in Germany. I tried to pretend I wasn't anxious. Thankfully Mary was my professor. She was always so supportive. At the end of Sophomore year, my mother was hospitalized due to a serious illness. I had to fly home ASAP. Mary was more than kind and supportive. She told me not to worry completing any of my assignments. She said she knew she and my other professors would accept my final projects late. I left Lesley and didn't worry about the consequences.
She was a thoughtful mentor. Sometimes one is blessed to meet and know an exceptional teacher. Mary was extraordinary. I will always be grateful for Mary's kindness.
I am still an ESOL educator working with immigrant families. (I believe Mary's philosophy still a part of me.)

I knew Mary and her family from my Families mutual friendship. I also spoke with Mary prior to my Matriculation to Lesley University then Lesley College. Her expertise and knowledge led me to make wonderful choices. Thank you for you Mary. Rest In Peace. Laurie Kepnes

Outstanding educator. I graduated Lesley College 1967 and became a wonderful teacher which I can attribute to Mary Mindess.
