MARY OSBORNE Obituary

OSBORNE, Mary Elizabeth (Swanson) Age 61, of Gloucester, wife of the late Mark Ashley Osborne, passed November 16, 2024. Born in Salem, the daughter of the late Leonard F. and Nancy J. (Clare) Swanson. She was raised and educated in Wenham, before graduating from the Pingree School in Hamilton. She attended UMass Amherst, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Art History and minored in French. MaryBeth served as gallery director at Haley and Steele. MaryBeth is survived by her siblings, Amy Swanson-Salmon of Paris, France, Emily Clare Foley (Ron) of Derry, NH, Leonard "Buzzy" Swanson, Jr. of Gloucester, Andrew Swanson (Marie) of Manchester, NH, and Eric Swanson (Tracee) of Boxford; her nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Zoë, Delia, Clarisse, Nathaniel and Luke, Mark's son, Scott Osborne of Danvers; and her father's wife, Judith Allyn Putnam of Peabody. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 22, 2024, from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M., at the Gloucester Elks Lodge, 97 Atlantic Rd., #101, Gloucester, MA 01930. I remember visiting Marybeth in Boston at the gallery where she worked in Copley square. I would walk over on my lunch hour to say "hi" and chat, whenever l had the time. My condolences to her family for their loss. She was much too young.
