Maxine Holtzman

Age 68, of Bridgeport, CT, passed on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Mrs. Holtzman was born in Clinton, MA, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah Taft. Upon completion of an Associate Degree from Garland College, she married Fred Holtzman of Dorchester, MA. They resided in Framingham, MA from 1959-1976 and then moved to Westport, CT. Maxine received a BS Degree from the University of Connecticut and opened a retail establishment called Lingerie Plus in Ridgefield, CT, while she attended school. She retired after 13 years and became an active member of the University Women of Westport, The Westport and Bridgeport Library Groups, The League of Women Voters and the Democratic Party. In addition to her husband Fred, she is survived by her devoted children, Michael and his wife Anita, Stephen and his wife Shari, and daughter Cheryl, as well as 3 adoring grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, and Jacob. Maxine is also survived by her three siblings, Marlene, David, and Rhonda. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Rd., Fairfield, CT, with interment following at Temple Israel Cemetery on Richards Avenue in Norwalk, CT.
