MEGHAN O'SULLIVAN Obituary

O'SULLIVAN, Meghan Elizabeth Daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, friend, caregiver, and your top choice if you ever needed anyone on your side, died July 12, 2022, after being struck by a car while crossing Sunset Boulevard. She was 39 in human years, and immortal in the select pantheon of those who loved the Boston Red Sox, Ani DiFranco, fast cars, and Irishness in all its incarnations. "Meggo" to many and looked up too quite literally at nearly six feet tall, she singularly fused the hippie's unconditional love for the universe with the flinty resilience of a seasoned foxhole warrior. Yeah, though she walked through the valley, she feared nothing, because she was the toughest thing in heels. Meghan lived in Derry, NH, Cohasset, MA, Washington, D.C., and West Hollywood, CA. The younger daughter of Elizabeth M. O'Sullivan and the late Jeremiah F. O'Sullivan, II; she is also survived by her sister, Kate O'Sullivan Williams; brother-in-law Kevin, and their children; brother, Jim and sister-in-law, Tara; brother, Nicholas Herzog; godparents, Jane and Stephen Woelfel; many loving aunts and uncles and a cacophonous lot of cousins, now charged with furthering her legacy of fun on the Cape, fun in the kitchen, and abundance in the shoe and handbag department. Meghan graduated from the Germaine Lawrence School for Girls, Noble and Greenough School, and American University, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Simmons University. A tenacious nurse who traveled to New York City while it was digging mass graves at the height of the pandemic to offer her services, Meghan reveled in and rose to a sense of duty borne from her family's tradition of military and medical service. She brought her talents, wisdom, and compassion to the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, McLean Hospital, and then as a travel nurse to several Los Angeles institutions before ultimately working as a charge nurse in post-anesthesia care at the Linden Surgical Center in Beverly Hills. Hollywood's beautiful people envied her. Meghan knew pain of all stripes intimately, confronted it, and beat it into submission in her inimitable style. Her friendship was a precious but common gift. Ever her dad's little girl, she is righteously celebrating a life lived well and fully with the Chief with some NCIS reruns, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and maybe the occasional Mount Gay and tonic. Her spirit still blankets all she touched. Despite her love of flowers, from her farmer's market, through her camera lens, in her apartment, or in her hair, Meggo would prefer any contributions to go to her favorite charity, JB's Keys for DMD. And she'd want you to laugh hard, dance harder, and love unconditionally just the way she did it. Meghan's Visitation will take place at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 20, at 12 p.m., with Interment at Woodside Cemetery in Cohasset to follow.

Meggo (Meghan) was a classmate and friend of my sister Lulu Miller. Meggo participated in lulu's wedding as an usher. I had a chance to talk with her briefly. Now I look at pictures from that day and am very sad for Meggo's family she was tall and beautiful. I send my deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Much love to Meg's family. I am so sorry I cannot make it to the services with my husband Daniel Franco. Daniel cared very deeply for Megan and I can see going through old photos with him what a special person she was. Much love sent your way.
