I have fond memories of Mehmet from the years we worked together at GTE Labs. He was well liked by everyone, gentlemanly, and well respected for his technical expertise. It's been a number of years since we last touched base. I don't remember if it was an email exchange or lunch at his favorite Waltham dining spot. I am pleased that after the Labs he had 10 more great years of engineering work that the excelled in, at Lincoln Labs. Farewell, Mehemet, on your final journey. You will be remembered.

I worked with Mehmet for 5 years at Lincoln and shared an office with him for the first year I was there. We had many lovely conversations, and my family enjoyed sharing dinner with him and Tülay on regular occasions. Despite my best efforts, he never let me pay until once I snuck up to the register and paid without telling him. When I returned to the table and told him, I honestly think it was the most surprised I've ever seen him. We will miss his lovely personality and wonderful conversations.

I worked with Mehmet for over 10 years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He was very hard working, wrote large network simulations with many thousands of lines of code (and somehow kept it straight in his head). I especially admire him for getting a PhD late in his life. He never stopped learning and exploring. I will also remember him fondly for the Turkish treats he brought in and eating with him at his favorite restaurants Grassfields and Mulan in Waltham. I will miss him.

I was so sorry to hear of Mehmet's passing. I worked with him at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and we shared an office for a period of time before he retired. I, too, am an alum of RPI, and we had fun talking about the differences in the school between when he attended and when I did. He was such a kind, gentle man, and I will always fondly remember our conversations. My sincere condolences to his family.
