Dear Marion and Candy -
I am so sorry to hear about Mel's passing. He was a wonderfully warm and funny guy, and a dear friend to my parents as well.
Thinking of you fondly, and wishing you peace.

Dear Mel and Marion, It is with deeply heartfelt feelings that John and I express our sympathy on our dear friend Mel's passing.
Too many years pass with out giving thoughts to a friend's passing and then the news comes!!! The end is final but does not
last forever because we all join again in that sacred place we
call and know to be Heaven. May your grief be held close to your
heart w/God's mercy and love at your side, Marion. Mel you are
and always will be missed until we meet again in Heaven above.
We love you both.

To Mr Dunn (Mel), Marion and family,
I am so grateful for the wonderful teacher Mr Dunn was, I loved offset printing and being a lithographer. When I became a teacher at Weymouth HS in the very same Graphic Arts shop 16 years ago I had the great experience of reuniting with Mel. He was driving a bus at the time and often visited the print shop. The first time he came in and saw me, he walked up to the press and said hey Butch what are you doing, which that big smile. Mr Dunn you had a big impact on my career, thank you for your inspiration.
Rest in peace,
Arthur Roach

To Mr Dunn's family & friends my deepest condolences
During my time at Weymouth Vocational
Mr Dunn was a teacher of mine. Litho & Offset Printing.
The teachers who teach you how to learn are the ones who leave meaningful experiences.
Though litho/offset printing was not the career path I took , I went into Disney Studios in Burbank, Apple Computer Cupertino along with many years of music projects & performances.
Mr Dunn handed out a great opportunity to his students to learn more than just subject matter.
Truthfully, I was a horrid student and just wanted to play guitar & gig back then, something he once said to me stuck.
" Do what you like and love what you do , but in my shop you could you try a lot harder ? "
When he caught me blowing up a picture of my band in the dark room he was ... well lets just say upset some... not cause I tried to sneak the project but that my work was better than what I was doing for him & his shop.
Did I get an earful and I deserved it.
Lesson learned ...
So when I was teaching a class at San Fransisco State, audio engineering I caught some student trying worm his own project on my class time.
I thought of Mr Dunn when he caught me and word for word gave "the earful" to my student.
Thanks Mr Dunn for passing along some very valuable lessons.
Once again my deepest condolences for your loss.
Mr Dunn was a great teacher !

I learned a lot from Mr Dunn at Weymouth Vocational Technical HS. He was a fine man and a great teacher. I know my fellow students never will either. RIP Mr Dunn.
