Micaela McGRATH Obituary

McGRATH, Micaela Our family is very saddened to announce that Micaela McGrath, 58, a long-time resident of Stoughton, peacefully passed away at her home. Micaela was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown and Marshfield, before her family moved to Norwell, where she attended Norwell Junior High and Norwell High School. In high school, she was an active athlete, top student, and captain of her Varsity Cheerleading Squad. Daughter of Mark Dullea of Peabody and the late Maura Prouty of Norwell, she leaves her son, Benjamin Parsons of St. Petersburg; her daughter, Tiffany Parsons of Sharon; her granddaughter, Bella Paige; grandson, Maxwell D'Angelo; and her brother, Nicholas Dullea; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephew, and her beloved dogs. She was a graduate of Norwell High School (class of 1985) and then Boston College (class of 1989), where she majored in French. She attended graduate school in Paris, where she met Michael Poppoff, her first husband, and father to their children, Ben and Tiffany. She then returned to Boston and married David Parsons and settled in Stoughton. After David's passing, she married John McGrath and they enjoyed several good years together before life set them apart. She spent her last years in Stoughton with her boyfriend, Patrick Norton. Micaela had a career in sales and marketing. Throughout her life she was surrounded by friends and family. She was also a wonderful painter and was inspired by her late artist mother Maura. She was an amazing mother, a trusted friend, an incredible cook, a keen francophile, and a truly special and beautiful soul. She will be greatly missed more than she'll ever know by everyone whose life she touched. Family and friends are invited to her wake at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral at 1 Summer Street in COHASSET, this Wednesday, May 7th, from 4:00 to 7:00. Funeral Services at Glastonbury Abbey will be announced in the future. www.mcnamara-sparrell.comMcNamaraSparrellFH/DN Customer Logo

This is so sad. I only knew Micaela as we went on the same school bus every day. I remember her beautiful strawberry blonde/red hair. She wore some purple every day. This gave her an enigmatic presence along with her sweet smile. I loved her purple and thought it was daring especially in the early 80's of conformity. So sad for her to die so young. Blessings to her spirit and to her family and friends.
