MICHAEL J. FAY

FAY, Michael J. Of Weymouth, passed away on December 23, 2017. Born in Boston, Mike grew up in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Roxbury, and was a 1948 graduate of Mission High School and then Boston University, Mike worked for many years as a Boston school teacher, and retired from Hyde Park High School. He was an avid Boston sports fan, also a member of the Weymouth Lodge of Elks, as well as the Cyril P. Morisette American Legion Post in Quincy. For many years, during Michael's retirement, he worked for Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., finally retiring at the age of 82. Mike proudly enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and was overjoyed by his great grandchildren, he attended all their sporting events. Mike spent his summers with family and friends by his backyard pool. Husband of the late Geraldine M (Cronin). Father of Marianne Sheppard and son-in-law, Kevin of Abington, Mike Fay and his wife Patty of Wilmington, Richard Fay of Palm Coast, FL, Brian Fay and his wife Michele of Abington, Rosemarie Brown and her husband Craig of Norwell, Katha Austrino and her husband Dominic of Palm Coast, FL. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brother Thomas F. Fay and sister Mary A. Fay. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
