Mike was a great classmate, one that everybody liked. He was very intelligent, down to earth, caring, and he had a great sense of humor. I am sure he was doing a great service where ever he was practicing. He will be missed.

I was thinking about my old friend,mike,(best man at my wedding/roomate in medical school)and one of the few stand up men who i have met. I wanted to touch base and possibly get together with him. I guess that won't happen till later.He is brilliant,caring,selfless and uniquely mike ( we loved to be in his presence because he made us laugh and made us feel safe).I can't imagine a better doctor or friend. your friend Paul

I don't know where to begin ... I am so sorry for your loss. My heart cries for you as well as for Dr. Michael Folino. I will never forget him. This is a great loss to our medical society as well as to his many patients that will miss him as well. Society could have only gained greater knowledge from him - we have all lost. Dr. Folino was (and in my mind - is still) one of the sweetest, kindest, funny and caring men I have ever met as well as have had the pleasure of working with. The family at BROCKTON HOSPITAL (especially the Emergency Room) are all in a state of shock. I only saw him two days before his untimely death. It has now been a week and I am still in shock as well as saddened. He cared about his patients, staff, fellow coworkers and anyone whome had the pleasure to meet him. I don't believe there is another Dr. like Mike. He always made a stressful situation better by offering us jokes to break the tension. If anyone had a question, they could ask him and he would take the time to offer the explanation with a smile. I am just still stunned and saddened! I find myself looking at the cubbies at work (where he usually sat) ... just hoping he would appear with his kind smile (and a coffee)! I can't even begin to imagine how devastating this has been for his family. I just want to let you know, that your son ... brother ... will be missed greatly. I know he will always be in my heart and mind. I will never forget him - he was/is a great person as well as doctor!

To Mike's mom and brother;
Like everyone, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's passing.
I had the great pleasure to work with Mike when he was employed at Mass Mental Health Center. His dedication, creativity, and sense of humor were traits that endeared him to the other staff members and to the kids with whom he worked.
I know he will be greatly missed by those people who had the good fortune to be working with him currently, in whatever capacity.
My prayers are with you, and today (the day I found out) I will also light a candle for him.

To Mrs. Folino and Mark, I am sincerely sorry for your loss. To Mike-you changed the concept of the "typical work day" at Geiger Gibson Health Center. You made up crazy words "Geigerized" and I loved it. Thanks for helping to make Geiger my home and the staff my family. We had some great times together and no one can take those memories away. Words cannot express how sad I feel because we will no longer share special moments like we used to. I not only was his co-worker but also had the luck of being his patient and I will never forget all he has done for me.

Dear Mrs. Folino and family, I knew Michael when he was here at Lynn Cty Health Center. He was a great doctor to work with. Several of us still remember him fondly from 6 years ago. My name is Marsha Needham and I was a patient @ the geiger gibson center,Let me start off saying how sad and shocked everyone is and was about learning about the passing of Dr Folino, He touched many people through medical and friendship relationships.When we found out thursday @ group we were all so shocked and numb, he helped us so much for our addiction, and saved so many of our lives. For him I am so greatful. He would come in the room and asked how I was doing and I would tell him MY problems, and he would always make you feel better when you left, he told me I was one of the most funniest patients he's met.I know in my heart and many others that we will get better, because he wanted it that way{but he also said PLEASE do it for yourself. My heart and soul go out to his family and friends, he will be sadly missed, I will miss him dearly, May you rest in peace. Thank you for all your help!
