I was driving on the SE Expressway this morning, going past the exit for the staging area for Firefighter Kennedy's funeral. At that moment the song, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" came on the radio. My eyes welled up as I listened and thought of the song as a perfect tribute to a person who was willing to lay down his life for others. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My sympathy to Family, Friends, Boston Fire Department.
My father was a member of a local volunteer fire Department, I was taught had a early age to respect fire fighters, and to show them support. At a later age in my small town when the fire alarms rang I was there to help fire fighters find places for people to stay or what ever the fire fighters needed. I pray for all firefighters everyday as they go out on calls. God called Michael to Heaven to be with him RIP my brother firefighter.

I am so sorry for the loss of this incredible man. As his mother had said, "He died a Hero"! My nephew,Tommy Timmins was in that building fighting the fire when the Backdraft happened. He was injured, but he survived. I am forever grateful for what Firefighter Kennedy and Lt. Walsh did!!! Please accept my condolences and Michael Kennedy is forever in prayers!! God Bless.
