MICHAEL MARRONE Obituary

MARRONE, Michael Joseph The Reverend Michael Joseph Marrone died peacefully on April 30, 2025. A proud New York native, he was born on September 21, 1943, in Manhattan, and raised in Brooklyn. After earning his master's from the Episcopal Theological School and being ordained, Michael served parishes in Gardiner, Maine and Westford, Massachusetts before settling in Duxbury, where he was Rector of St. John the Evangelist until his retirement. He was a talented and lively preacher with a unique gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. Michael loved books, history, music, and cooking, but most of all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Kittie; his sons, Matt (Sara) and Andrew; grandson, Billy; sisters, Angela and Eleanor; and his nieces, nephews and their families. We will miss his wit, intellect, and famous smile. A Memorial Service will be held June 14, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist, Duxbury, MA at 11AM.
