PEMBROKE, Michael J. Of Dorchester on May 6, 2015. Beloved husband of 60 years of the late Dorothea "Dotty" (Norton) Pembroke. Beloved son of the late Nora (Griffin) and John Pembroke, of Castleisland, County Kerry, Ireland and Dorchester, MA. Devoted brother of the late Joan Kelley and the late Denis J. Pembroke, Pvt, USAF, also of Dorchester, MA. Loving father of Joan and her husband Kevin Morris of Milton, MaryEllen and her husband Kevin Deagle of Pembroke, Noreen Leahy and her husband Thomas, Carol Harrington and her husband John, Eileen, Denis, Patricia, Jean, and the late John (Jackie) Pembroke, all of Dorchester. Beloved brother-in-law of Mary Norton of Norwood, Barbara Norton of Brighton, Michael Norton of Maine, and Joseph Swaider of Weymouth. Loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mike was a loving and hardworking husband, father, brother and grandfather who at times worked three jobs to support his large family. He was an active and devout member of St. Ambrose Parish in Fields Corner and St. Ann's Parish, Neponset and had an avid passion for Irish music, dancing and geneology. He was never happier than when travelling with his wife Dotty and dancing with her to the music of the Noel Henry Irish Showband. One of his greatest accomplishments, after raising his nine children, was going back to school in his forties, at his wife's urging, to obtain his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Bentley College. He worked for the Boston & Maine, and Amtrack Railroads for over 40 years, and after retirement worked for H&R Block preparing taxes. Visiting hours in the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.) DORCHESTER, Friday from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Neponset, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
