QUEENAN, Michlyn (Scarpitto) 68, of Chelmsford died as the result of an accident on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. She was married to Bernard "Bernie" Queenan with whom she celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on August 3, 2016. Born in North Adams, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Jacqueline Scarpitto. She graduated from Stoneham High School with the class of 1966. Michlyn earned a BA in Latin and Spanish from UMass Amherst, a Masters in Counseling from Boston State, a BA in Italian from Harvard, and a BA in French from Paris, France. Michlyn was a dedicated and beloved foreign language teacher at Chelmsford High School for forty-seven years. She truly loved teaching. She also loved to travel and "putting on her fineries". She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. Michlyn was devoted to her family. She loved being a wife and above all loved being a mother and grandmother. She always comported herself in a classy, collegial, professional manner. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Sean M. Queenan of Chelmsford; daughter, Alexa E. Queenan of Dracut; brother, Michael and his wife, Noreen Scarpitto of Reading; sisters, Carolyn and her husband, Richard Warmington of Saratoga, CA, and Renee Henning of Arlington, VA; brother-in-law, James and his wife, Shelia Queenan of Hudson, NH; sister-in-law, Mary and her husband, John Sproul of Leominster; grandchildren, Mia Queenan, and Jayleigh Queenan; two nieces and four nephews. She was a kind, gracious, outgoing person who brought happiness and compliments galore into the lives of everyone she knew. Michlyn will forever be missed by her family and friends, but her uplifting spirit and infectious smile will burn bright of those she left behind. Visiting hours Sun. 1 to 4 P.M. Funeral Mon. at 8AM at the Dolan Funeral Home 106 Middlesex St., CHELMSFORD. Funeral Mass at 9AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Chelmsford. Private burial in the Southview Cemetery, North Adams. It was with absolute devastation we learned of Madame Queenan's passing from my daughters who had the immense privilege to have this angle as Their French teacher, counselor and friend. I have met this amazing "Madame" 6 years ago and can honestly say she is the only High School teacher I connected with and loved. We would spend many hours chatting in French over the past few years and my family will miss her dearly. An angel on earth and now an angel in heaven with wings for sure. My deepest sympathy to her whole family. Bon Voyage Madame! Michlyn has left this earth a much better place for being such an inspiration to be better and do better. God bless you ma chère amie.

I was fortunate enough to be a neighbor to Michlyn and her family. I was shocked to hear of her passing. Michlyn was the kindest woman ever - she would stop and talk with you anytime she was out walking Sasha the families dog. Met her in TJMaxx one day and out of the blue she was helping me put together outfits - she loved clothes and shopping. She will be missed by so many which was so evident by the number of people who attended her wake yesterday afternoon. Angel is a definite word to describe Michyln. Our deepest sympathies to the entire family.

I met Michlyn at the Weight Watchers Center on Summer Street a few years ago. Then I would occassionally see her at St. John's and she always greeted me with a big smile. She was always so kind and gracious. Not only was I shocked to read of her passing but very saddened that this vibrant soul was taken from us so soon. I'm sure she has her angel wings and is wearing them with style!!! Thoughts and prayers for the Queenan family. She was a true gem!!

Dear Family of Michlyn,

I was so sorry to hear of Michlyn's passing, I only saw it today at 3:11 so couldn't make the wake, but Michlyn was my friend and mentor when I was substitute teaching in Latin at Chelmsford High School in the mid 1980's. I have lovely photos of Michlyn and her beautiful handwritten seasons greeting in that large, generous, expressive handwriting, and I will always treasure my memories of her. Bernie, please accept my sincerest condolences, I am so sorry we never kept in touch.

I known Michlyn since the mid 1960's. She was a good church-going person who dearly loved her family and loved life. She was a shining star who enveloped her students with her love; and then, inspired them to succeed in any of their endeavors.

Michlyn was the embodiment of "random act of kindness." Everyone who entered her room at CHS left feeling better than when they arrived because of her relentless positivity and warmth. She reminded us all to be our best selves by setting an example of humanity and empathy. My condolences to the Queenan family. She will be deeply missed by the community.

So sorry so to hear.
Mrs. Queenan was one of a kind-she was my Latin teacher for 4 years at CHS. I often have thought of her throughout the years...she was one of my favorite teachers. I remember her infectious smile, her fun outfits, and of course her insane passion for Latin! She was truly a gem.
I am so thankful that out lives crossed for a few years.

I am truly sorry to learn of Michlyn's passing. I was her English teacher at Stoneham Jr. High.
She was a lovely, caring , hardworking student.
No words can take away the tears; no amount of touch can take away the hurt. You must only feel that " God's finger touched her and she slept." May the fine life she led be a source of comfort to now.

Mrs. Queenan was one of those teachers I will never forget in HS. She was upbeat, positive and encouraging. Mish and I would call each other to see what we were wearing to the CYO and Congo dances. We talked for hours on the phone, and we went to each other's houses after school on many, many occasions. I just saw her at our 50th reunion and she was frozen in time. Mish, i'm saying a prayer for Bernie and your kids and grandkids as this is a tremendous loss for them, but I know you're enjoying your mother and father in heaven. I bet your mother greeted you with a hug and "Mishleen"
