MIRIAM SIDMAN Obituary

SIDMAN, Miriam (Ifrah) Of New York, formerly of Lexington, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Paul C. Sidman, with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. Cherished mother to Scott Sidman and his spouse, Leesa Storfer of Salisbury, MA; Pamela Sidman and her spouse, Kelly Sahner of Brooklyn, NY and Jonathan Sidman and his spouse, Ana of Queen Creek, AZ. Devoted grandmother to Melanie, Julia, Jack, Tallulah, Preslee, and Slade. Dear sister to Chava Bitterman of Toronto, Canada, and to David and Hanania Ifrah of Israel. Miriam was also a loving sister-in-law to Sara Ifrah, widow of her beloved brother, Haim. Born in Marrakech to Joseph and Messody Ifrah, Miriam grew up in a large, close-knit family that later emigrated to Israel and Canada. Miriam eventually made her home in the United States, where she became a vibrant part of her community. For 56 years, Miriam was a treasured resident of Lexington, MA, where she made countless friends through her dedication to volunteer work. She was an active member of Temple Emunah, especially involved in the Sisterhood and the Bereavement Committee, finding purpose in supporting her faith community. A natural with children, Miriam proudly served as a pre-school teacher at Temple Isaiah in Lexington. She found immense joy in watching generations of students grow, often teaching the children of her former students and celebrating their achievements over the years. Miriam's love of the arts and music, particularly musicals, was something she cherished deeply and shared lovingly with her family. She delighted in taking her granddaughters to various performances, passing down her passion for culture and creativity. Her marriage to Paul brought her enduring happiness, marked by laughter, shared adventures, and a love of travel. Together, they journeyed around the world, making regular visits to family, especially in Israel, always fostering a deep connection to her roots. A Funeral Service will be held at Temple Emunah, 9 Piper Road, Lexington, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Beit Olam Cemetery, 61 Old Sudbury Rd., Wayland. Shiva will be observed at 6:00 PM at Temple Emunah, and on Friday, November 8 from 11:30am – 4:30pm at 1 Seven Springs Lane, Burlington, MA. Miriam was our family`s good friend for many years. She always had a smile a a warm greeting and was one of the first to welcome our family into the community. One of the most giving people that we have ever known. When she died she left a huge gap in our community.
Wonderful memories of our trips to Israel with Miriam

So sad to hear about Miriam´s passing. We worked together in travel for over 30 years. She was a special lady. We had many laughs together. She will be deeply missed.

Miriam's love and kindness touched countless hearts. Our families' enduring friendship, spanning over six decades, began when my parents met Miriam and Paul in the 1960s. Miriam's selfless dedication to helping others defined her remarkable life.

She volunteered extensively at her synagogue and various organizations, always putting others first. Her warmth and generosity made everyone feel cherished.

Miriam celebrated our milestones: hosting my wife and me when we got engaged, signing our Ketuba alongside Paul, and joining our son's bar mitzvah cruise. Her presence brought joy and love.

An extraordinary individual, Miriam's impact is deeply felt worldwide. Her legacy inspires us to emulate her compassion, kindness and devotion.

May her memory be a blessing.
