I read this obituary today and was deeply moved by Dr. Silver's commitment to and love for her son, and his for her. Both sound like truly special people. I pray there are many loving friends nearby who are a family for this young man. He clearly was such a gift to his mother.

Dear Adam,
Your mother was my dear friend. I promised her I would stay in your life and I intend to do just that. You were everything she could hope for and then so much more.
love,

Dear Adam,
Your mom and I were good friends during the late 60's and 70's while I lived in Cambridge. I have submiited a photo of Nancy that I took during one of our adventures, a week long canoe trip in Maine. I hear that you will be attending Harvard in the Fall! My very best wishes,
Nancy during a canoe trip in Maine ~1970

I sat with Nancy many times at Adam's track meets and baseball games. My grandson and Adam are friends. She always put him first no matter how she was feeling. She had so much courage. My grandson's name is Brian Bradley.
