FITZGERALD, Neil A. Neil A. Fitzgerald, 82, of Stuart, FL passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Albert and Eleanor Fitzgerald, born in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts and raised in Arlington, MA. Neil graduated from Matignon High School in Cambridge, MA and Boston College, as a member of the Great Class of 1957, where he was captain and later coach of the Boston College Ski Team. Neil Fitzgerald was a ardent and fierce competitor who enjoyed many sports including downhill skiing, golf, sailing and tennis. He was a talented piano player who enjoyed performing for his friends and family. Neil and his wife were long-time members of Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts and Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart, Florida where they made their home for the past 17 years. Neil and Linda Fitzgerald were married March 3, 1962 for 55 years of marriage. They would have celebrated their 56th year of marriage this Saturday, March 3rd. Neil is survived by his loving wife Linda Fitzgerald of Stuart, FL; his four children Erin Fitzgerald and partner, Anthony Chambers of Sherbourne, MA, Amy Sheehan and her husband, John of Portsmouth, NH, Kara Moss and her husband, Jeffrey of Marshfield, MA and Peter Fitzgerald of Portsmouth, NH; his eight grandchildren Neil Donohue, Julie Gallot, Brendan Sheehan, Kevin Donohue, Timothy Sheehan, Tom Donohue, Daniel and Nora Moss, his two great-grandchildren Henry and Nolan Gallot; his brothers Arthur Fitzgerald and his wife, Elsa of Tiverton, Rhode Island, Rick Fitzgerald of Bozeman, Montana; and his sister Elaine Shea and late husband, Bill of Arlington, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in loving memory of Neil can be made to Treasure Health, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997 or Martin County Community Foundation Scholarship Assistance to employees of Willoughby Country Club and their families, (Willoughby Foundation) 3001 SE Doubleton Drive, Stuart, FL 34997.
