Fr. Nick married us in 1983. He blessed us well, we´re still going on together. My mother spoke so very highly of you and your ministry!

Father Nick is one of the kindest individuals we have ever known. He played a large part in our spiritual life, christening some of our children and our grandchildren. We will miss him greatly, but will remember him always.

The first day Father Manikas came to us in Canton, my mother walked into his office and said "I will be your champion no matter what." From that moment, she became "Helen, my Angel" and my dad, who had just retired from the Air Force became "the General".
And until both of my parents (now of blessed memory) passed away Father Manikas would call on their name days to wish them well.
As for me, (like so many countless others, I´m sure), he was my first spiritual father a true shepherd who guided me through my teenage years and my young adult years ever encouraging and always keeping me in his heart and prayers.
I will never forget this man nor his precious wife. I know his angel Helen and the General met him at the gate and that´s how I know their beloved memories will be eternal.

My priest when joining the Orthodox Church in 1963. He and his family were an inspiration and loving beginning to a life in the Church I´ve embraced. Surely he will rest in God´s hands. Carol Trifelos

Our thoughts and prayers to the Manikas Family. Fr. Nick was an awesome mentor at St. Demetrios where I had the opportunity to serve my field education with him while at Holy Cross. I will always cherish and try to emulate his wisdom and passion for the Faith! May his memory be eternal as he serves among the righteous at the heavenly altar!

What a wonderful life and a blessing to so many! Our whole Ladoulis family has been touched by this gifted priest. We enjoyed reconnecting with him at Brookdale where my parents Bill and Bess live. Bless him and his family.

With deep sympathy, respect and love, my wife, Presbytera Marsha and I remember Fr. Nicholas and Presbytera Effie as I served as a deacon at St. Demetrios in Weston in 1980, as part of my Field Education assignment as a seminarian at Holy Cross. My first Divine Liturgy as a priest was at St. Demetrios. His gentle, kind, loving , and pastoral spirit still touch me to this day and helped me in my formation as a priest. A true and special teacher and mentor that indeed will be missed, but thank God, has touched the lives of countless clergymen and lay people throughout our country. Well done, good and faithful servant of our Lord! May his memory be eternal. In the love of our Risen Lord, Fr. Lou and Presbytera Marsha Christopulos

With Deepest Sympathy on the falling asleep in the Lord of your father and grandfather: Fr. Nicholas C. Manikas of blessed memory. Your Dad and Mom are held in the highest esteem here at Saint Haralambos in Canton, Ohio where they served from 1963 to 1975 and their valuable ministry here has never been forgotten. We were blessed when both Fr. Nick and Presbytera Effie visited Saint Haralambos a few years back and everyone and especially their former GOYANS enjoyed dinner together and reminisced about those good old days. I have been blessed to know your Dad - Fr. Nick and I´ve experienced his pastoral guidance as a student at the Seminary from 1976-79, as a priest at his home parish of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Manchester, NH where I served from 1984-2000, and as Doctoral Student Classmates at Andover Newton Theological School 1983 to 1986. Both Father and Presbytera will be forever remembered for their fervent dedication to the Greek Orthodox Church. True models of our faith to be emulated. Memory Eternal. May our Lord comfort you. On behalf of your Saint Haralambos Church Family,
Zoes O Logos sas.
Fr. Nicholas V. Gamvas,

Father Nick was a special man and an amazing priest. He truly represented Christ - with kindness, humility, mercy and love. He welcomed us into St. Michaels as if we were there from the start. His gentle guidance put us on a great path in our faith and we will always love him and Matushka Effie. May his memory be eternal.

Everlasting be your memory Fr Nick. You were one of the best examples of the priesthood for us. We were blessed to have you and Presvytera Effie in our formative years and tried hard to emulate your ways.
Well done good and faithful servant!

So sorry to hear about Fr. Nick.
He was always a kind, caring Clergyman and displayed a great deal of wisdom in the conversations we had.
He will be sorely missed and a great loss to all who knew him.
May god bless him, grant him rest and give solace and peace to his family during this most difficult time.
May his memory be eternal-

Father Manikas, was my first real introduction to the Greek Orthodox religion. His spiritually, kindness, love and encouragement led to my Chrismation. He will always be in my heart and his memory will be eternal. My deepest sympathies are extended to his family. Now, he and Presbytera Effie are truly together forever.

Fr. Nick helped me to return to faith in God after many years that I lived on the island without Christian Orthodoxy. Since then, my faith has not faded. I will always remember Father Nick with affection and gratitude. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
