PATRICIA LYNCH Obituary

LYNCH, Patricia A. Of Boston's North End, passed away on Tuesday, July 23rd, surrounded by LOVE. Patricia was the first born of the late Herbert R. and Anna M. Lynch. Our sister, "Auntie," friend, colleague and shipmate arrived on this Earth October 17, 1951. Patricia, our sister, our matriarch, we will miss her guidance, but most of all, her sheer presence Her time on this Earth was well spent. "Auntie" enticed her 18 nieces and nephews with the tales of her endless adventures, playing a prominent role in each of their lives. Whether the narrative was that of her travels around the globe on the Barque Picton Castle or snorkeling the reef at her beloved Akumal, their eyes were always wide with wonder. Each relationship was prominent, unique and genuine, leaving them to feel special in her company. She brought to them her knowledge of art and culture, generosity, kindness and wisdom: how fortunate they, and the children of her friends, are to have had this bright light to guide them. As they bore children of their own (13 in all), "Auntie" welcomed them with the softest, most cuddly, stuffed animals money could buy. Through each of these progenies, her adventurous spirit shall live on. Upon her passing, friends, colleagues and shipmates shared expressions emphasizing the impact she had in all areas of her life. "Sharp intellect, strategic insight, and warm presence." "Well-known for her extensive relationships, hard-work and common sense approach." "An extraordinary person. Smart, funny, interesting and generous. She took issues, but not herself, seriously. One of a small group of women lobbyists in the 1990s, she was a mentor and role model for many young women interested in government and public policy." "Her smile, her laugh, her wisdom..." " Our wonderful Patricia - So many wonderful memories" Patricia occupies space in the hearts of many. We shall cherish the time we had with her. A Celebration of Life is planned for October.
