DUNPHY, Paul J. Jr. Of Yarmouth Port formerly of Needham and Millis, September 23, 2016. Beloved husband of Linda G. (Carlson) Dunphy. Devoted father of Bryan H. Dunphy and his wife Kristel of Barrington, RI, Margaret E. "Meg" Ivatts of Barrington, RI, and Christopher P. Dunphy and his wife Paula of Marshfield. Grandfather of Priscilla, Henry, Lilly, Brigham, Hayden, Olivia, Bryan, Mitchell, Gwen, and Cydney. Brother of Margaret "Peggy" Zinck and her husband Arthur of Burlington, John Dunphy and his wife Alice of Naples, FL, and William Dunphy and his wife Janet of Phoenix, AZ. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Paul was a member of the first graduating class of Catholic Memorial High School. Graduate of Northeastern University Class of 1966 where he played baseball in the 1966 College World Series. He taught English and history and coached baseball at Mansfield High School. He retired as the Vice President of Mt. Ida College, Newton. One of his many achievements was presenting an honorary degree to Muhammad Ali and they became very good friends. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Needham at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 4-8 p.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
