Just learned of Paul's passing after all these years. I am so sad to know this. He was a dear colleague when I served Quincy Massachusetts as Public Information officer and mayoral press secretary under Joe LaRaia. Also a classmate in undergraduate academia. He was such a bright thoughtful kind man and we need more of him in this world. He was NEVER driven more by politics than public service. My condolences to his family.

Quincy has suffered a terrible loss. Paul Harold was one the best men I have ever met. All of Quincy, among others, will miss him.

My heart is filled with sadness in learning of Paul's passing. The Dave Williams and Harold families were so close through the years and we've all known too much heartache. We've lost a wonderful man in Paul, as we have with his folks, sister and brother. Greg and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to Billy and his family. We can only hope there's a big reunion in heaven for all those who have gone on before.

It was with great sorrow that we read of Paul's death. Quincy & the entire South Shore has lost a very special native son. He was very dear and loved by my family, particularly my mother, the late State Representative Elizabeth Metayer of Braintree, who affectionately considered him a second son.
Our hearts, prayers & sympathy are with Paul's family.

My mothers family and the Harolds grew up together in merrymount, quincy. Paul was always an intelligent and generous person. he would always be a reference for me when i needed one and i remember going along to many events for the boston center for international visitors and talking with him about international relations. he was always generous and kind and always knew something great about some obsure country or would have a great ancedote from his travels. i will certainly miss him.

My deepest sympathy to the Harold family,I was a friend of Paul's sister Betsey and spent many week-ends at their home of Sea St.He would tease us endlessly as only an older sibling could.
