Floranne - you and your family have my deepest condolences for Peter's untimely and shocking death. I met Peter several years ago via the Operations & Power Division of ANS, where we worked very closely on so many projects. He left a huge void, difficult to fill. He was like a mentor, leading my way through ANS' governance. I will miss his guidance, his integrity, his enthusiasm, and most importantly our friendship.

Pete will be missed by all of us that knew and worked with him. He was a true professional in all of his activities and someone you could always depend on to complete actions he took on. His support of the ANS and especially the Utility Working Conference on which we worked together was greatly appreciated. My sincere condolences to Floranne and the rest of his family and friends.

Peter was a great man. He taught me so many things. I grew to not only respect him but to love him. Peter was my uncle and I will never forget him. He may be gone in a physical sence but he will never be gone from my heart. I am not alone, he will always be with me no matter what I am doing! Love you forever!

He was a true gentleman.

Pete and I were in the original GE I&SE startup engineering group. We worked together at Millstone 1 in 1972. He taught me to dive there with Florranes gear. My next dive will be in his memory, and maybe all my dives to come.

Many people would like to measure up to Pete's professionalism, integrity, technical knowledge, and fairness in dealing with all people and each situation. A friend and professional during work at Pilgrim and TVA will always be remembered. Our wishes for strength and courage for all of Pete's family during this time of sorrow.

My sincere sympathy to Peter's family. I only knew him a few months when we worked together at Millstone last year, but I will miss him. He was a gentleman, very pleasant to people, and always thorough and very professional in his work. He did not speak often about himself, but it was apparent he took great joy from his family, scuba diving, and the Cape.

I wanted to send our deepest regrets to Floranne and other family members. Peter was a man of integrity who was not afraid to have a good laugh. We spent many nights watching the Quad Cities Mallards hockey team play to a championship season back in the mid-90's. Peter loved hockey and he shared that interest with me. He was a great man who I will miss greatly.

We all meet professionals and gentlemen in the course of our lives. Peter was, by definition, a truly great guy and professional. Sincerity and honesty were two values always associated with Peter. My heart goes out to his family and firends. Our profession has lost a leader and beacon for what we all strive to be.

I can't think of any words to console Floranne and all those close to Pete for this tragedy. But I do want to remember some contributions Pete made during his life. He taught me so much about the sea through his articles, slide shows and stories: the natural history, the economic contribution, the power and the mystery. I will remember him standing relaxed and confident at the helm of his boat heading home after an outing, and recently, brimming over with excitement about the Florida trip. Here's to all our memories.
