PETER REICH Obituary
82, of Cambridge, MA died 8/11/13 in the Adirondack Medical Center of complications of acute myelogenous leukemia. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1956, did a medical internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital and residency in psychiatry at the Boston Psychopathic Hospital. Dr. Reich was head of the Division of Psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital and was a Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Subsequently he served as the head of the Mental Health Service in the Medical Department at MIT. He is survived by his wife Lee C. Reich, brother Charles, daughter Alice, son Daniel, daughter-in-law Mary Draper, grandchildren Emma and Maia Draper-Reich, Ethan and Janet Spingarn. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held in the fall. Visitors will be welcome at the Reich home in Cambridge on August 28 and 29th from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Adirondack Council, P.O. Box D-2, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

Dr Reich was a wonderful teacher and premed advisor for me when I was at MIT in the mid-90s. I'd recently moved back to the Boston area and wanted to reconnect with former teachers, mentors, and friends. I regret to find that I'm a few months too late.
