PHILIP KNOWLES Obituary

KNOWLES, Philip G. Age 84, passed away peacefully, on November 19, 2025, in Danvers. Born on September 20, 1941, in Lewiston, ME, Phil lived a life marked by dedication to family, community service, and a deep commitment to shaping the lives of young people. His early career began with the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that would remain close to his heart throughout his life and later, sales within the paving industry across eastern Massachusetts. In 1994, he founded Bitcon Corp, paving specialists, a company he led with pride and dedication until his passing. A loving family man, Phil is survived by his wife, Marilyn Carmichael Knowles; sons, Scott Knowles (Beccy) of Topsfield, Donald Knowles (Andrea) of Winchester and Christopher (Kristen) of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Mandi Bibbins, Vanessa Knowles, Callum Knowles, Landon Knowles and Hudson Knowles; sister, Virginia Carper (David) of Springfield, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Knowles; and his granddaughter, Rachel Bibbins. A Celebration of Phil's Life will be held at the Topsfield Congregational Church Meetinghouse, 9 East Common Street, Topsfield, MA, on Saturday, January 17, at 11 A.M., followed by a reception at the Emerson Center (across the street). Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St. (Rte. 62), DANVERS. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil's memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at dana-farber.org/gift www.odonnellfuneralservice.com
