PHYLLIS SUDBAY Obituary

SUDBAY, Phyllis A. (Ruth) Lovingly

Remembered Wife of Donald E. Sudbay, passed away on August 16th, 2017, following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Gloucester on May 25,1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Tobin) Ruth. Phyllis was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1947. Throughout her life, Phyllis remained a very active and well-known member of both the Gloucester and Marco Island, Florida communities. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Addison Gilbert Hospital Auxiliary, working in the hospital gift shop. Phyllis also was a member of the Gloucester Garden Club and volunteered on many projects that helped beautify Cape Ann.

Phyllis enjoyed tennis, golf and skiing. She was a long-time member of the Bass Rocks Golf Club and the Island Club of Marco Island, Florida. But most of all, Phyllis enjoyed and was totally devoted to her husband, Don, and their family. The family has fond memories of skiing in New Hampshire, visits to "Nana and Pop-Pop" in Marco Island, and vacations out west skiing and horseback riding. Phyllis enjoyed entertaining and spending quality time with her many friends. Phyllis' love for her family and friends will be forever cherished by those she touched.

In addition to her beloved husband, Don, with whom she shared sixty-six years of marriage, she is survived by her three children, Donald E. Sudbay, Jr. and his wife Jeannie, Sally Ann Kane and her husband Kevin, and David J. Sudbay. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Woodbury. Phyllis is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren, Caroline Sudbay, Bradlee Sudbay and his wife Megan, Brenden Kane, Andrew Kane, Sara Sudbay and David (DJ) Sudbay, great granddaughter Riley Sudbay, step-grandchildren Jacqueline Sullivan, Timothy Sullivan and his wife Quinn, and Christine Sullivan, step-greatgrandchildren Timothy, Lily, and Brendan Sullivan, along with many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her sisters Kathryn Tebo and Dorothy Larsen.

A special thank you for the wonderful care given by all of the home health aides at Aberdeen Home Care and Care Dimensions.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19th at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
