ATHANASOPOULAS, Richard E. Of Newton, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 7. Son of the late Christos Athanasopoulas and Mildred Rusteika. Beloved husband to Janice (Bounivie) Athanasopoulas. Loving father to Lauren Coscia and her husband Raymond of Quincy and Deanne Zanco and her husband Anthony of Waltham. Dear grandfather to Justin and Alexandra Coscia and Trevor and the late beloved Tyler Zanco. Brother to Peter Athanasopoulas and his late wife Mary of Lynn, Robert Athas and his wife Jeannie of Quincy, Stephen Rusteika and his wife Kitty of S. Boston and Kathaleen Callahan of Rockland. Brother-in-law to Anne Ferranti and her late husband Anthony of Waltham, the late Joan Anselmo and her late husband Joseph and the late Kenneth Bounivie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the DeVito Funeral Home, 761 Mt. Auburn St., WATERTOWN on Wednesday, August 11th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and to a Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 12th in the Sacred Heart Church - Watertown at 10:00am. Burial will be private.
