Sharlene & Dave miss Rich's down-to-earth approach to life and periodic visits to new restaurants.

Although first cousins, Rich and I grew up in different states, I was from CT while Rich always lived in the Holliston/Sherborn areas of MA. Therefore we didn't share a lot of growing up time together. After Sharlene and I moved to MA in 2005 we often visited Rich & Margaret. Sharlene and I know Rich to be a very down-to-earth person. Quiet and un-assuming but confident in what he did. I think Rich loved working his hayfields and his garden the best. I've always believed that his part-time job of haying nearby fields, with his John Deere tractor, was probably done more out of desire to work the land than the money. His post General Motors career consisted of building quality homes and repairing homes in and around the Sherborn area. Rich was one who never seemed to become rattled by day-to-day events although local taxes were always an annoyance that never went away - or for that matter - never went down.
We will miss Rich and his periodic desire just to get us into their car and drive to some distant town to checkout a restaurant that had just been reviewed by the phantom diner TV show. One trip took us to a floating restaurant off Salem while another took us almost to the NY State line- at least it seemed that far. I guess he just flat-out liked driving. I’m sure the roads are smooth and end-less for you now.

We'll miss you Rich
