My deepest sympathies to your family...I was not a family member nor a friend. But I was thrilled to meet and watch Atty. Egbert in action. I was in awe watching him and listening to him. He will be terribly missed...He was a great man.

Deepest sympathies to the entire family. I hadn't spoken or seen Richie in about 45 years. I was in the same high school fraternity as his brother Steve. One Sunday Steve brings this little pipsqueak to the meeting as a new pledge. The teasing started immediately-"this is a high school club not an elementary school after school day care program. The teasing continued for about 3 or 4 weeks when the hardest working pledge-Steve's little brother,Richie, was welcomed into the fraternity. 45 years later I get a call from a very unhappy customer. I am the manager of a large limo company in the Boston area. After finding out who it was we reminisced a short while , but he was still very concerned about the $540 limo bill he received when he was definitely quoted $530. I told him not to worry I would certainly give an old frat brother a 10% discount off of the entire invoice. He said that was great to get a $54 discount, but also reminded me not to forget that $530 minus $54 would represent the corrected new invoice. That was the little guy with the big heart and great mind that we all fell in love with. Warmest regrets to all that new Richie Egbert. David Glicklich -Millis, ma.

Dear Patty and Manny,
I was shocked and terribly saddened to hear about Richie from a friend. It's been a long time since Brodney's, but it seems like yesterday you were pregnant with Manny and Richie was so proud and excited. Please know that I feel your loss and also your joy of having been privy to loving such a wonderful man. Please accept my sympathies.

As little kids (growing up in Newton) Richie and I were pals. I remember him as a leader, a good athlete and just a good all around guy.

To Attny. Richard Egbert's family, friends, work associates and all those who knew him like I did...
I was one of the pro bono guys that Attny. Egbert defended. My case lasted almost two years. Attny. Egbert asked me for a small fee at the beginning and never asked me for another cent. He handled my case with the same care, attention to detail, and amount of work. I didn't thank him enough and now he's gone. My heart goes out to those that knew him on a deeper level than I did, especially Manny.

As my son said, "Oh, no! I love Richie." Indeed we all love Richie. He had a giant heart to go with a brilliant mind. He fought with all his might to keep government prosecutors honest, an almost impossible task. When asked by a judge why he fought so hard to defend his clients, he replied "Your Honor, that's my job under the Constitution of the United States." He was a really good man. We loved him greatly.

I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of such a kind man. I came to know Richie as a guest at my bar. He and his wife Shannon became like family to us. Richie was an exceptional man - from what I could see he loved life and he loved his family deeply. He was the kind of person who truly cared and he showed in how he lived. He will be greatly missed. My sympathies go out to all who loved him.

To the entire Egbert Family: I was both shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Richie's passing. I first met Richie as a young Court Reporter, we became friends immediately and was one of my first clients at the old Marcus and Egbert firm and remained a client until my retirement seven years ago. In all that time he always treated me with the utmost respect. He was at all times a CLASS person. I shall miss him greatly. My warm feelings go out to his entire family. Rest in peace Richie
