RICHARD A. HADJIAN

HADJIAN, Richard A. Of North Andover and Harwich Port, MA, died on May 30, at age 73 with his family by his side, shortly after being diagnosed with lymphoma. Rich leaves his wife Mary; son, Gregory and his wife, Rebecca; and daughter, Sarah. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Anita Hadjian. Rich earned a BA in Chemistry and Biology from BU and a PhD in Biochemistry from UNH. He worked for 30 years in the radiopharmaceutical industry, advancing from research scientist to senior leadership in international business development. As a child, Rich developed a love for the outdoors, which he passed on to his family. He ran the Boston Marathon twice. In his retirement, with his son Greg, he cycled in the Alps and to the summit of Mt. Washington three times after age 65. He was a proud volunteer at the Mind Body Institute at MGH. Rich was driven by devotion to his family. He was the loving husband of Mary for 42 years and a relentless champion for his children. He relished taking family trips and spending time on Cape Cod. His family will greatly miss his homemade pizza and pancakes. Family and friends are invited to call at a Memorial Reception at Salvatore's Function Room in Lawrence on Monday, June 5 from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael Church in North Andover on Tuesday, June 6, at 10 am, followed by a Private Burial in Harwich Port. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
