Richard Higgins Obituary

83, of Boothbay Harbor, ME in Scarborough on August 27, 2008. Widower of Marie T. Higgins. Born June 20, 1925, in Dorchester, MA, the son of Richard L. Sr. and Jennie Chisholm Higgins. Career Navy officer, he enlisted as a seaman in the US Navy in December of 1941 and served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam wars. Retired as Lieutenant Commander in 1971. He is survived by his sons Richard L. Higgins Jr. of Richland WA, the Most Rev. Michael J. Higgins, T.O.R. of Rome, Italy, Peter T. Higgins of Portland, ME, Donald R. Higgins of Boothbay, ME, Stephen G. Higgins of Gaithersburg MD, daughter-in-law Heidi Kieffer-Higgins of Dorchester; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a brother William Higgins and a sister Mary Aaron. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday, Aug 29 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Boothbay Harbor. Mass 2 pm Saturday, August 30th at the church. Donations to the Franciscan Friars, T.O.R.
