RIP to a friend and colleague who I shared many memories of covering the events of lively Revere politics. Rich was well known and universally respected in the community for his dedication to journalism at The Journal and knowledge of the city. He truly was the heart and soul of Revere.

I was saddened to read about Dick´s passing. I worked with him at DTA , and he was a kind, decent, and funny man. He taught me a lot, and was always making me laugh. He will be missed.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of my friend, Dickie, and I offer my sympathies to his family. Dickie Powers was simply a great guy -- and a great "Revere guy," who touched the community and enriched the community in innumerable ways. I would draw particular attention to his outstanding work, for many years, at the Revere Journal, and how important that work was to the community that he loved and to the people of Revere. Dickie was a natural reporter -- dogged in the pursuit of facts, thorough, honest and fair -- and also an exceptional writer, a true stylist of the language. You were lucky if you had Dickie Powers as a friend, as he brought graciousness and humor and goodwill to every encounter and every conversation. It's hard to believe that a man so alive and a man so much fun is gone. With the passage of time, he will be missed all the more. May the angels sing thee to thy rest, Dickie.
