I was stunned and deeply saddened to learn about the sudden passing of my friend and colleague Richard Sheridan. Richard was a kind and gentle man and a passionate advocate for his students, the Landscape Architecture Program, and URI. I recently met with him at his request to brainstorm about the future of the LA program. I will miss his gentle soul and sense of humor. My deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends.

Had the good fortune to be Richard´s neighbor for five years, we shared choirs on weekends which included weeding, dump trips, cutting trees down.
We shared our past experiences and a lot of laughs, we had a great relationship. He will be missed tremendously by all his family and friends, he was a unique and priceless person.

I just found out today that a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend has passed away. It was so sad to hear about Richard. I worked at URI and Richard and I sometimes wound run into each other when I was working in the The Learning Landscape gardens. We would chat and have a laugh or two. He would always talk about Piper and his family.
My Sincere Condolences to his loving family.
