Dear Michael and Lisa, Andy,Pamela and Family, It seems like it was just yesterday that our Parents took us down to Cape Cod in the Summer of 1969. (Andy got out of it somehow and Pamela was off somewhere) .I still have some great memories of those days..Yet, in all those years and personal changes that occurred since then, our Mothers continued their close personal friendship as our lives took their separate paths...And regardless of what successes or losses that Rita's Children may have had, I can honestly say (My Mother told me this) that your Mother did not play favorites. She loved You all equally. I can still recall the day that Mike and I were over your house in Somerville and listening to the Stereo in the Parlor, listening to Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. The song."Old Friends" was on and Rita came in and told Us to go get some Sun because it was too nice to be inside,so we went to see an old Teacher at Somerville High..She was probably really telling us to get that stuff off the stereo, now that I can look back with a Parent's Ear!!...Well, flip forward 40 years and soon we will be the ,"old friends sitting on a park bench quietly" pretty soon,I think... However, the truth is that,it was Our Mothers that were the catalysts which pushed us in our "competitive spirit" to become survivors and winners. And Rita was not one to mince words and certainly no one to be fooled with. She carried herself with Dignity and Confidence . I think that is why I always liked Her so much because she was direct and confident and I could identify Rita's independence immediately because she was much like my Mother in that respect and ahead of their time. They were real Irish Somerville Woman who knew what they wanted from Life. It is in this spirit and foreknowledge of Your entire family that I truly convey my heartfelt condolences on your loss...Your Mother was Aces in my book...as was your Dad,too. I will see you when we meet again and I anticipate that I will be getting the extra Phone calls that Rita and my Mom used to share and that's OK..Again,All my Best Wished to You All, Your Friend,John Carvello, and Jared Carvello ..Yarmouth,Ma.

Andrew,Pam, Lisa, and Michael I am sorry for your loss of your great mom.I remember as a child playing on Williams Ct with Jeanie everytime your mom spoke to us I would jump as she was a forcefull presence. Then as I matured and got to know Rita as a person I grew to admire her outspoken attitude, sense of humor, and her outlook at life. Rita will be missed one great woman. May she rest in peace.

To: Mike, Andy, Pam, LIsa and your families,

Jane and I are deeply saddened after hearing about your Mom. You know she was very special to me... what she did for my family after my dad's death will never be forgotten, and could not be repaid. That's in addition to all the support and encouragement she gave me while we were growing up together.

I will remember the good times and laughs we shared. She was the best of the best. Anyone could tell by just looking at her family!

Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Ronnie and Jane Esposito (Bedford, MA)
