ROBERT L. CUNNINGHAM

CUNNINGHAM, Robert L. Of Natick, formerly of Wellesley, West Roxbury, and Roslindale, died peacefully on April 24, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Rita P. (Grainger) Cunningham for 64 years. Devoted and loving father of Robert Cunningham and his wife Patricia of Hilton Head Island, SC; Paul Cunningham and his wife Janis of Westwood; Susan Landers and her husband Patrick of New Canaan, CT; Brian Cunningham and his wife Judy of Hopkinton; John Cunningham of Auburndale; and David Cunningham of Walpole. Loving grandfather of Jillian Kiely (Chris), Rachel Cunningham, Neil Cunningham, Laura Cunningham, Sarah Boland (Tim), Meghan Singleton (Neal), Kiki Duke (Will), Daniel Cunningham, Sean Cunningham, Matthew Cunningham (Ciera), Andrew Cunningham, and Alex Cunningham. Great-grandfather of Vivienne Cunningham. Robert was a graduate of Boston College High School, Boston College, and Boston College School of Management. He served as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps in the WWII era, and he had a long and distinguished career with New England Telephone Co/NYNEX Corp. He enjoyed travel, golf, and many family get-togethers, and he was a member of Nehoiden Golf Club in Wellesley. Robert also volunteered at Talking Information Center in Marshfield for many years. Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16), WELLESLEY on Tuesday, April 26 from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, April 27 at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul's Church, 502 Washington St., Wellesley at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
