Robert F. Ellis

1929 - 2017

HAMPTON - Robert F. Ellis, 88, passed away at his home with his children by his side on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born on June 8, 1929, to Henry and Frances Ellis, Sr. in Canandaigua, NY. While stationed in Germany, he met and married Heide in 1959, and they spent 48 years together raising a loving family. After serving 20 years in the USAF, he retired as a Master Sergeant and went to work at NASA, where he retired in 1991. Bob enjoyed woodworking, fishing, sports, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob and Heide attended church at the LAFB Chapel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Frances; wife, Heide; brothers, Lewellyn and Henry Jr; and sister, Jane. Survivors include his son, Gregg and his wife, Jennifer of Hampton; daughters, Patricia Schwengler of Rialto, CA and Karen Lynch and her husband, Stephen of Poquoson, VA; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, and Daniel Schwengler and Bryce, Chase, and Sydney Lynch; 4 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20 from 6-8 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The service will be held on Friday, July 21 at 10:00 AM at Parklawn and the funeral will follow at 12:00 PM at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery. The family would like to thank ABC Health Care for the loving support Bob received over the years, and more recently from the staff at Riverside Hospital.
