Im so sorry to learn that Mr. Farius has passed :( A few days ago a question came up on facebook that had me recalling a memory that brought Mr. Farius to mind. Today I googled him hoping to find him on fb to say hello and sadly found he had passed. He was my teacher at Adam's School in Lexington Mass way back when I was a little girl. I am now 63 years old. I was giggling on fb about how Mr. Farius brought a record player into class. Intentionally. Lol. I guess I was a very talkative child. and in a playful way he made his point... lol He brought in the record player and played me the 45 record/song "You talk too much" .... (soft smile) & He was correct. I havent changed a bit :) (Giggle) He was fun.. had a sense of humor ... and today I'm left with a fond memory of him that has stood the test of time & still today gives me a giggle. Thank you Mr. Farias for leaving that memory with me and for being my teacher. My condolences to his family, his students, friends and anybody who knew him in this journey of life. RIP sir.

On behalf of my wife, Theresa; daughter, Christina and son, Matthew; I, Robert Bob Surette wish to offer my condolences to the Farias Family.
I had the privilege of teaching & coaching with the Great Robert Farias at Lexington High School during the late 70's and I consider our Friendship & Coaching Experience a Blessing & an Invaluable Experience .
Bob Farias exhibited Class; Perseverance and Love of Family; Student Education and the Sport of Basketball. I appreciate Bob, as he considered me as one of his Assistant Coaches on the Bench, the Glorious Night back in 1978 when Lexington HS beat Durfee HS for his only Massachusetts State Basketball Championship!
Our Lord opened His Doors much too soon for Robert, evidently to be reunited with his lovely wife.
His New England; Massachusetts and Lexington Halls of Fame were all well deserved. Bob, undoubtedly, is now standing in Heaven for another Induction for the Father/Husband Hall Of Fame, along with his lifelong friend and coaching legend Roland Rollie Massimino.
Again, I consider it a Blessing, Privilege and Honor to have Taught and Coach with such a Magnetic and Blessed Human Being.
May Our Lord God, Bless Robert, His Lively Wife and Two Lovely Daughters at this time.
Respectfully,
Robert Bob , Theresa, Christina & Matt Surette.
Four Time Hall of Fame Inductee for Soccer & Baseball in both New Jersey & Maryland.

Hi, sorry to hear of your loss. My mother sent me the newspaper obituary.
Your husband, Dad, grandfather, was my teacher in 5th and 6th grade, at Adams He and I had a special bond. He always pushed me to excel and be the best both on the field and off. I was definitely not his number one student..He also used to discipline me with tactics in todays day and age most likely would not be tolerated. He was always fair but Firm. He was a Big Kid looking back.
He joined me at recess, by throwing me the football, or shooting baskets, or playing baseball. He knew I had a passion for sports and he always took time to teach and drill me Hard.
I'll never forget his wing tip shoes, his buttoned shirt and ties. I used to take his shoes to clean the mud and dirt from the playground or ball field.
I recall he organized a teacher student softball game..and when he got up everyone was afraid. I went to left field out by the Railroad tracks, He hit a high fly ball to the fence and I caught it.. If you could have seen his face, it was priceless. I remember his green VW bug, he took me to Lexington HS to basketball practices with Rollie Massimino..( they're reunited once again)
It saddened me to read the news..but as all of us will one day face death.
The last thing I'd like to share is, it's your choice where you spend eternity.
One Day we will all Die and go before the throne of God. I pray as you have witnessed the life and legacy of a Great Father, husband, teacher, friend or neighbor, we all have to give an account on how we lived our life when we take our last breath.
Make sure you have your reservations in place to spend Eternity together in Heaven. Pack your bag now while you have time, no one is promised tommorow.
God's continued comfort, provisions and blessings.
Thanks for letting me share.

To Bob's family,
He was truly one of a kind and a good man through-and- through. To have known Bob Farias was a pleasure indeed and We will always treasure fond memories of him both as a friend and neighbor and on and off the basketball court where he and his teams gave so much of themselves to the townspeople of Lexington. God rest his soul.

Bob Farias was the first guy in the old Santo Christo Basketball league in Fall River, Mass to give me the confidence to try out for the league. Without his encouragement, I would not have played at all. I too played a few years after Bob at Durfee. I remember how tenacious he was in sports, but such a great guy off it. I had not seen Bob since they beat Durfee in the State tourney. My deepest sympathy for Bob's family.

Mr. Farias aptly punctuated his lessons with a slam of an 8 ounce can to the desk and the exclamation "Beans!"
Or related the time he passed in a required 2 page paper recounting that it was raining "drip, drop, drip, drop, drip drop... for an entire 2 pages of drip, drop." We were lucky to have such a unique and dedicated teacher. My love and condolences to his family.

Coach Farias played an instrumental role in my youth as a player on one of his basketball teams in the late 1980s. He imprinted a tough, hard-work-and-discipline-pays-off and play by the rules mindset on me and many of my teammates. Always enjoyed lacing up and playing for Coach and fond memories of those special years at LHS that he helped create.
When I tell my four kids stories about being mentally and physically tough (something that can be a foreign concept in this day and age), I think of Coach Farias.
All of my condolences to the Farias family

Mr. Farias was my 6th Grade teacher at Adams. He was gruff on the outside, but really cared about the kids.
