ROBERT FIREMAN Obituary

FIREMAN, Robert Neil Age 74, of Boston, on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Beloved husband of Ellen (Porter) Fireman. Cherished son of the late Harry and Louise (Grover) Fireman. Devoted brother of Carol Fireman Markell. Loving brother-in-law of Lynne & Warren Salzman and Stephen Porter & Pamela Kellogg. Fond uncle of Jonathan Salzman, Andrea & Alex Zinn, Zachary Porter & Kassia Randzio, Sam & Brianna Porter, Adam & Rose Markell, and their families. Loved by his friends, colleagues, and extended family. Ellen would like to thank Robert's attentive and supportive medical care teams at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital and Mount Sinai in New York City. She is especially grateful to Robert's cousins Paul & Phyllis Fireman, their daughter Stephanie Rogers & her husband Adam, as well as Robert's dear friend Wendy Siegel, who all advocated tirelessly for Robert's care. Robert will be remembered for his wit, joyful attitude, and dedication to helping everyone he met. After graduating from University of Wisconsin-Madison, he received his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston. He was a serial entrepreneur having started and exited several businesses in loyalty marketing, hydroponic farming, medical billing, and more. Since 2017, Robert served as CEO and board member for MariMed Inc., a company he helped build with his long-standing business partner and dear friend Jon Levine. Under Robert's leadership, MariMed won many licenses to operate state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation, production, and retail facilities across the country. He drove the company's hundreds of employees to deliver on its mission of improving the lives of people through MariMed's products, actions, and values every day. He will be fondly remembered by the MariMed team and all those he connected with throughout his long career. Services will be held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, CANTON on December 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Masks are required. Burial in Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Reception will immediately follow at The Cape Club of Sharon, 25 Tiot Street, Sharon until 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Robert's name may be made to the ILD Clinical and Translational Research Fund at Massachusetts General Hospital to support the ongoing work of Dr. Robert Hallowell and his colleagues. Gifts may be made online at giving.massgeneral.org designated to Patrick Rooney/Fireman Family. Alternatively, gifts can be made in Robert's memory to Mount Sinai's Lung Transplant Program, which can be made online at giving.mountsinai.org. Donations should be directed to "Other" and designated to lung transplant, thoracic surgery, and Dr. Scott Scheinin, who oversaw Robert's care.
