I remenber visiting the Learmonth house across from the State Police Barracks in Concord. He and his sister Mary were friends of my parents Phil and Mary Ann Kelley. He was a person that made you feel welcome. The last time I saw Mr. Learmonth was probably fifty years ago and seeing his picture immediately took me back to that time. A testament to a life well lived to be remembered after all that time.

Bob,

I met you only a few times at the ASMIC convention in Denver and once in Massachusetts but we share a distinct heritage together as a fellow Rakkasan trooper. Rest in Peace Trooper and I will meet up with you someday on the Drop Zone. MSG Leigh E Smith Jr C/3-187 Inf.

Bob,
You always knew I wished you had stayed at the Concord Police Department. We would have made a good team. And Martin there with us would have been the frosting on the cake. Good bye dear man.

Bob -

We first met 32 years ago when you were the only one to answer my letter. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Your practically adopted my wife and me and showed us some great times in MA in general and on the cape. I remember the first time you met me and saw that I had a moustache. You gruffly (?) told me I couldn't have one back there and I told you "I ain't working for ya now, am I?" and he must have laughed for an hour.....he had a tremendous sense of humor, I loved your sarcasm; you were open and warm and I will miss calling you each Saturday and seeing you at shows.....you will be terribly missed all the way out here to the left coast. RIP my friend.

To All,
Bob was a terrific dad, husband, grandfather and friend. He was a real study in living life to the fullest and in believing in yourself - always steady and true. He will be sadly missed but well remembered for all he did for family, friends and his community.

I will miss Bob's teasing, he was so good at that. How can one person be so kind and so sarcastic? That was Bob. I loved our visits and will keep those memories. Note to family: Can I still come by to visit? Thinking of you and sending you strength. He left a huge void in your lives, there's no question about that. Love, Sue

Gramps was an amazing guy, he has done so much for his family, the community, and I'm glad I got to meet such an outstanding, sweet, and amazing man, but sad to see him go. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten.

How can I best describe Bob's consideration and courage - and my respect for him? Try this. Despite suffering a heart attack and broken leg just before my daughter's wedding, he did not tell anyone because he did not want to miss the festivities. Boy, will he be missed. Many prayers for you, Uncle Bob. JMN

Although I didn't know him well I enjoyed my chats with him when he came in to the store. What great and courageous man to jump out of a plane at the age of 80, I so admired him for that. I am sure that he will be greatly missed. My condolences to the Learmonth family.

Bob was a great friend and he kept me laughing for over forty years. We had some great times searching for shoulder patches all over the country. He was a soldier, a police officer and a great guy who loved his country, his family and his friends. I will truly miss him.

Jean and family - My sincerest sympathy in the passing of your Dad. He was a terrific guy, great police officer and always proud of his precious family. I have very fond memories of him as a Concord Police Officer while growing up. He had a positive impact on a generation of children. I hope that with time, your memories will bring smiles to wipe away your sorrow.
