Robert F. McGraw

88, died at home Friday July 11, 2008. His wife, Margaret (Cox) McGraw, died in January 2000. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Worcester State College and earned a Masters Degree in history from Harvard University. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 101st Artillery during WWII. He enjoyed a long teaching career at Worcester State College, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Hopkinton Historical Society and many local art associations. He was a prominent and renowned artist, painting many Hopkinton landscapes and landmarks. He is survived by his son Stuart of Colorado, his daughter Barbara Hagan and granddaughter Amy Burton of California and his sister Jean Ritchie of Braintree. A memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church Street, with military honors to follow. Donations may be made to the Hopkinton Senior Center, 28 Mayhew Street, Hopkinton, MA 01748. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Callanan-Cronin Funeral Home, 34 Church St.
