I had Mr. Robert Sheridan as my US history teacher at Boston English High School (1971) He was a truly dedicated master in the art of teaching, and was always ready to help or rescue anyone in need, as I can personally attest to. Reflecting on Robert Sheridan, he had an unconditional positive regard for humanity. I was so lucky to have him as a teacher, and lucky to be influenced by his positive unrelenting energy and faith in students like me. Robert Sheridan has left a footprint in the sands of time that will ripple for eternity.

Mr. Sheridan kept me on the right track at BLS. As a college student working at the Capitol Market on Centre St., he would continue to check in with me. I appreciated his guidance and friendship.

Hello to all of Bob's family and friends! Let me say "I am so sorry to hear of Bob's death. We have lost a great History teacher and a fine gentleman!
My friendship with Bob began at Boston Latin School in 1970 and lasted for 36 years. During that time- I got to know Bob as a fine teacher and friend. Bob's knowledge of History especially American History and Boston's History was incredibly deep - his knowledge of details was amazing and interesting. I believe his method was "Repetissio est mater studioum " and it was often used by him inteaching and ordinary conversation -when he wanted to get a point across! Throughout his long career, he was an excellent teacher and a great plus to BLS. In addition, Bob found time to be a faithful Union member offering encouragement to all.
What also sticks in my mind, was his faithfulness to his family and his "nephew" whom he loved and guided through life like a father.
Just - on a lighter note - Bob was a great basketball player ( I believe at Boston State- and also was the only man I ever knew who had electric socks to keep his long legs warm in winter-- We used to joke about them!
So, enough - and I am sure he is looking down on his earthly family from Heaven where he has met his ancestors whom he is thrilling with interesting History stories- God Bless Bob!
