Robert and I met in the early 80´s when we shared funky offices in downtown Raleigh - those digs are now a Bail Bond office.
We bonded over our legislative jobs and snuck out in the afternoon for freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
As the "senior" lobbyist - Robert finishing up his legislative internship - I got a lead on a job with CitiBank. Unwilling to relocate to the Heartland, I passed along the opportunity to Robert. The rest, they say, is history.
He was my houseguest in Raleigh during various political events, and, later, my husband and I traveled to Boston for his wedding to Christine. It was truly joyful and so began a new chapter in his exuberant life.
He left an indelible mark and I will cherish my time with him. Sending prayers and love to Christene and his beloved daughter.
