My sincere condolences to the family and friends, I just learned of her passing. Robin was my classmate at Princeton, and we among others shared a magical moment. There was to be a total eclipse of the sun visible only on Martha's Vineyard and Virginia Beach. No internet, no forecast, equidistant from Princeton so we flipped a coin and 6 of us piled into a car in the wee hours and drove to Virginia Beach. Robin was unforgettably loving and living life, and she was rewarded with a perfect day, a perfect total eclipse and a lifetime memory. Same here.

Many condolences to Robin's family and friends. In the 1970s, I greatly appreciated her pioneering efforts to help female reporters gain equal access to player interviews after games -- a.k.a., confronting the locker room issue. In North Carolina at the time, I and several female sports writers were dealing with the situation, too -- and it meant a lot to have someone at Times pushing for change.

Dear Paul Horvitz and other family and friends of Robin. I was a freshman at Princeton when Robin was a senior. We both worked at The Daily Princetonian, and Robin was a generous colleague. And, as it turned out, one of the people who made a difference in the world.

Robin baby sat my daughters when we lived
in Port Washington. We all felt she was part of our family-that;s the way she was. We lost touch as time went by and are so grieved to reconnect now.

Robin was from Port Washington, I was from next-door Manhasset. We both loved literature, France, sports & Iceland. We met at Princeton where we were both magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa Class of '73 women back when many Princeton men resented our "taking" those honors which they thought should rightfully go to men. I loved Robin's humor, politics, good sense, and spirit. I will miss her.

So sorry for Robin“ passing. It is way too early. She was a year ahead of me innHS and I long- admired her pioneering at Princeton and in reporting sports. As an AIDS pediatrician,I followed her deep writing on HIV. Sending love to her family and friends

Robin was a consummate journalist who could be sharp-edged and probing, yet sympathetic and warm; I saw both sides of her as a colleague in the profession and as a friend in the later years of her life. She was a highly professional communicator while at the Harvard School of Public Health, and a pleasure to interact with. For an all-too-short time she played guitar and sang --beautifully -- with an informal group of musicians of which I was and am still a member; I think she knew every Simon and Garfunkel song in existence. She loved Merlot and cats and her family; she and Paul had tremendous fortitude in meeting some of the challenges of raising two highly individualistic children, and of course was a courageous patient when unfairly afflicted with a daunting illness. She and my wife, Deb, bonded over their mutual artistic talent, commenting and complimenting each other on Facebook when a new work was posted. We offer our sincerest condolences to her family and hope there will be an occasion for those who knew her to gather and raise a glass to a truly remarkable woman.

A life well-lived by a remarkable and accomplished woman. A loving wife, mother and grandmother. A fun travel companion. A really good friend. The void she leave behind is huge...but how lucky we were to know and love her. Robin, miss you already.

Robin's presence inspired all of us in the Princeton Book Group. After we slogged through a particularly challenging reading selection, Robin said "If we can't take on these books, who will?" We will remember her warmth, her spark, her humor, and her devotion to Paul, Zach and Eva.
